A message from General Producer Yoshito Hori
LuckyFes was born in 2022 as a completely new festival with the theme of "A festival of music, food and art." In its first year, with only six months of preparation, it attracted 20,000 people, 40,000 the following year, 60,000 in the third year, and 80,000 in the fourth year.
Now in its fifth year, LuckyFes'26 will be even more powerful, taking place over four consecutive days in August. Concerns about temperature, thunder, heatstroke, and other issues have been reported to be comparable between July and August, and we have determined that it will be easier for family and friends to participate.
With the slogan "Japan's first summer festival held over four consecutive days! Aiming to become Asia's largest theme park-style festival," we will continue to work hard on preparations so that many Friends can enjoy the festival safely and securely.
Looking back, on January 5, 2022, just two hours after the shocking announcement that ROCK IN JAPAN FESTIVAL would be relocating to Chiba, we announced the holding of LuckyFes with the slogan "Don't let the light of Ibaraki's festival culture go out!" The loss of one of Japan's largest festivals will have a huge cultural and psychological impact on the people of Ibaraki, and the damage to the local economy will also be enormous. We launched LuckyFes with the sole desire to not disappoint the people of Ibaraki, and to give them hope.
LuckyFes has been well-received as a festival that can be enjoyed by all generations, with admission free for elementary school students and younger and half price for junior and senior high school students. It features a diverse crossover of music genres, including pop, rock, hip-hop, anime songs, idols, and K-pop, and also brings together legendary artists who are popular across generations. They also put a lot of effort into festival food and art, creating a theme park-like atmosphere.
We are truly grateful to all the Friends who have come to LuckyFes up until now. It is because of you Friends that the light has been passed on that we have been able to hold the event for the fifth year. Please look forward to LuckyFes '26.
See you at LuckyFes at Hitachi Seaside Park from August 8th to 11th. (^^)/
