The festival is expanding into the Great Grassland Area of Hitachi Seaside Park to make room for 120,000 attendees! Early bird tickets for the 3-day pass are now on sale.
LuckyFM, the radio station headquartered in Mito City, Ibaraki Prefecture, and organizer of the event, is expanding the venue of LuckyFes ’24. Just like last year, the event will take place at Hitachi Seaside Park but will extend into the Great Grassland Area to make room for 4 stages. Scheduled for the 3-day weekend of July 13-15, 2024, the festival organizers aim to attract 120,000 attendees with the expansion.
This year’s theme is “Aiming to be Asia’s Largest Theme Park-Style Festival!” with the goal of including talent from all over the continent. Currently, negotiations are underway not only with domestic artists but also K-POP artists from Korea, as well as musical acts from Taiwan, China, Mongolia, and other Southeast Asian countries. In addition to the four performance stages – Rainbow, Wing, Garden, and Hills – there will be LuckySpace, which will feature popular artists associated with LuckyFM.
Furthermore, LuckyFM’s live broadcasts, collaborations with “Battle to LuckyFes” (a contest to perform at LuckyFes that has garnered 1928 submissions already), the “CD Shop Grand Prize,” and other fun activities are currently underway.
For those who wish to secure their ticket as soon as possible, the lottery sale on the LuckyFM “Iba Ticket” system started on February 3 (Saturday) at 10:00 a.m. Those who are selected can get a limited 3-day pass for 29,800 yen (regular price, 35,000 yen.)

Message from LuckyFes General Producer, Yoshito Hori
On January 5, 2022, just two hours after the surprising announcement of the relocation of the Rock in Japan Festival from Ibaraki to Chiba, we said, “Let’s do it!” and announced we would host our own independent festival.
The relocation of a large-scale outdoor festival would have a significant impact on the cultural and spiritual aspects of the people of Ibaraki, and the damage it could inflict on the local economy was also considerable. We didn’t want to disappoint the people of Ibaraki; we wanted them to have hope. It was with these feelings that we launched LuckyFes.
The inaugural LuckyFes’22, with the slogan “Don’t extinguish the flame of Ibaraki’s festival culture,” attracted approximately 20,000 attendees over two days. The second year, LuckyFes’23 had the theme “Connect the flame of Ibaraki’s festival culture,” and one extra day was added to the event. That year attendance increased to 42,000 over the course of the festival.
Now, in its third year, LuckyFes’24 has the motto “Aiming to be “Asia’s largest theme park-style festival.” We will level up the event even further, not only focusing on Ibaraki but also on Asia as a whole. We will have a much broader ambition than last year.
Showcasing Asia
- Have appearances by K-POP artists from Korea, as well as artists from Taiwan, China, Mongolia, and other Southeast Asian countries. (Negotiations underway)
- Provide a bilingual website and information displays (Japanese and English.)
- Create an Asian dining experience within LuckyDining.
Expanding the Event (safely and securely)
- Increase the venue size into the Great Grassland Area.
- Aim for 40,000 attendees per day over 4 stages.
- Improve heat countermeasures by increasing the number of places to rest in the shade and drink stations.
- Triple the number of medical centers to create a safe environment and for sunstroke/heatstroke prevention.
Enhancing the Theme Park Atmosphere
- Advance music crossovers more boldly.
- Further globalizing art and dining (LuckyDining).
- Create an environment adjacent to the amusement park (Pleasure Garden) where children can enjoy themselves while listening to music.
We look forward to welcoming many new faces and celebrating the power of music together.
Let’s meet at LuckyFes at Hitachi Seaside Park from July 13 to 15!(^^)/
